Flip Brown is the Founder and Owner of Business Culture Consultants, a solo practice based in Burlington, Vermont that has been serving the socially responsible business community for over nineteen years.
Flip has an eclectic background of varied experiences that inform his work. At various times he has been a nonprofit program director, a ski industry program manager, a psychologist, a custom furniture maker, a rock ‘n’ roll musician, a sports orthotics fabricator, a mobile crisis team member, a beekeeper, an author, and a graduate school instructor.
Flip has been active in organizations that are amplifying the role business plays in changing our world, including service as a Board member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, being the Lead Organizer for the first peer-led B Corp Leadership Development event in the United States, and coordinating the Peer Circle process for the Social Venture Circle.
Flip’s practice is based on his optimism that human potential can be grown through the world of work. He engages with his clients to build a container of trust so that he can both support and challenge them in seeing, changing, and sustaining their patterns of communication, interaction, and behavior.
He believes that business should be a force for good, and he strongly supports racial justice, gender equity, and a durable and prosperous economy for all. His personal philosophy is summed up in a lyric from John Lennon: “Limitless, undying love which shines around me like a million suns – it calls me on and on, across the universe.”
